Problem: Since BPF is no longer being printed on the certificate, hospitals want alternative methods of identifying which records are to be sent to the health department.

Here are 4 possible solutions:

1. Purchase a barcode scanner and select option B

2. Use SELECT to identify which of the remaining unsent records are to be sent

3. Specify baby's name under INDIVIDUAL select

4. Use the #HALIST report to identify babies by medical record number. This

report provides an alphabetic list of all unsent records within a given date range.

Problem: Occasional undefined errors are occurring at field 25B. The problem happens when the EDIF call cannot compute a difference due an insufficient pattern check for 25A and 25AA.

Solution: Improve the pattern checks for 25A and 25AA to match 1N.E to find valid dates going into the EDIF call.

Problem: Occasional undefined errors are occurring at field 25AA. The problem happens when there is a long inter-menstrual gap, for example no intervening menses between births. In this case, field 25B does not have a default value computed. The check for subnode 4 then bombs out since it assumes a default value is present.

Solution: Add a $D check for ^T($J,"25B") for sub-field check node 4.

Problem: Ron discovered that there is a situation where item 25B has a partial value saved. If the user initially ^Skips 25AA and 25B then edits 25AA the 25AA subfield check creates a default value for 25B of the number of months without the suffix (i.e. 1 instead of 1ST). When the record is subsequently filed the FSHCASF1 routine removes items from the skipped list when they have a value. We end up with a single digit in 25B and it is no longer skipped.

Solution: Modify the 25AA subfield check to create the whole value instead of the single digit.

Problem/Suggestion:

Ventura County - Rosie called because she was entering a 2006 Fetal Death into AVSS and when she tried to enter code 67 in item #35 (Abnormal Conditions and Clinical Procedures relating to the Fetus) it would not accept it. It would accept 75, but that is for the Birth Certificate.

The following items changed on the Fetal Death Certificate for 2006, 24C (Father's Education),27C (Mother's Education),29D (Principal Source of Payment for Prenatal Care), 32A (Method of Delivery), 32B (Expected Principal Source of Payment for Delivery), 33 (Complications and Procedures of Pregnancy), 34 (Complication and Procedures of Labor) and 35 that should be checked for errors.

Jessica was getting some BID writeout checks indicating that race AMERICAN was coding to 30 instead of 10. I checked the 2007 list and found that to be the case. Glen should go through the 2007 race list on AVSS and compare the values and race codes with the appropriate CBC appendix. (I did the fix for AMERICAN on AVSSNET and at the state.)

Also compute WTGAIN for the weight gain during pregnancy. These three variables will not be displayed (except through VARIABLE DISPLAY or queries). Down the road we may create warnings or validations based on the values.

Modify queries to output an M for every 1000 records scanned (to follow the roman numeral convention). Running a report on a full year of data only displays 6-7 lines of M's instead of 600-700 lines of X's. In running a test at OVR the M's still come out at a frequency (about 1/second) that you know the report is running.

We currently only compute and set a value if item 25B has not been prompted or was skipped. This AMR proposes that if a newly computed value for 25B differs from its current value prompt for a reset. Add this post node execution to items 25A/25AA.

The length of the middle name is being set to the old default value of 18 during data entry. This happens because there is a call to the FSDUP routine which initializes ^T($J,"I4A") to null. Then the INIT check for 1B causes the length to go to 18.

Solution: modify the INIT nodes to only reset the length if there is a legit value in I4A: currently 'I $D(^T($J,"I4A")),^("I4A")<60631 S LEN=18' add ,^("I4A")>0 to test.

2. Prompt for a verification that the last record printed is okay every 50 records printed in a range.

1. After discussion between Alan/Ron/John/Peter we've decided:

A. No longer allow free text entries - users must choose from the list. If OTHER is selected prompt for a required specification. Verify the specification isn't in the list (ala item 5A).

B. Modify the HISPFIX^FSHCAVL3 routine to quit if a specific Hispanic code (1,2,3,4,5 or 9) is associated with the list selection made by the user.

C. Remove any prompting for the Hispanic coding (was item I19 or I22).

D. Create a year of death list for Hispanic values since the length of the item went from 16 to 19 characters.

2. Note from Ron: the new (19 character) list to be used is taken from the Appendix C of the CBC specs. I believe Peter has been able to extract the list items using the full version of Adobe Acrobat. We agreed, however, that GT should not be on the AVSS list.
