AVSS VERSION 4.10 RELEASE NOTES: NOVEMBER 2000

BIRTH CERTIFICATE CHANGES:
00-011 The user can now modify the vertical offset for printing LFN barcodes under the LFN ASSIGNMENT suboption.
00-019 A Hospital Birth Record must now be flagged as SENT using the LIST TO BE SENT TO HEALTH DEPARTMENT before it can be registered as a Birth Certificate.
00-061/2 Two new Generate File suboptions have been added: GENERATE Y2K RESEARCH FILE (1400) and GENERATE LINKED COHORT FILE (1400). The latter contains the local file number of the matching infant death certificate, its date of death, and a age of death indicator in positions 790-813 of the CBC record. Additionally, the ordering of the Generate File suboptions have been placed in a more logical sequence as shown below:
1 GENERATE OLD CBC FILE (1400)
2 GENERATE OLD CBC RESEARCH FILE (1400)
3 GENERATE OLD COUNTY CBC FILE (618)
4 GENERATE OLD COUNTY CBC FILE TO TERMINAL (618)
5 GENERATE OLD RECORDER FILE (618)
6 GENERATE NEW RECORDER FILE (1400)
7 GENERATE NEW RECORDER CBC FILE TO TERMINAL (1400)
8 GENERATE Y2K CBC FILE (1400)
9 GENERATE Y2K CBC RESEARCH FILE (1400)
10 GENERATE Y2K COUNTY CBC FILE (672)
11 GENERATE LINKED COHORT FILE (1400)

DEATH RECORD CHANGES:
99-136 A new field, AMO (Any Mention Of) has been added to the CDC Death Record. The purpose of this field is to record any mention of C=Cancer, D=Diabetes, H=HIV, I=Influenza, P=Pneumonia in the cause of death fields. The AMO field is not prompted, but can be entered by editing.
00-060 Fields 4, 5, and 7 for the CDC Death Record are now evaluated for consistency during data entry:
1. If the age of death as computed from Field 4 (DOB) and Field 7 (DOD) indicates an infant death, and Field 5 (Age) and its components do not, then the user is required to edit these three fields until the error condition is corrected.
2. If the age of death as computed from Fields 4 and 7 is greater than 365 days, but Field 5 and its components indicate an infant death, then the user is required to edit these three fields until the error condition is corrected.
3. If Field 4 is greater than Field 7, then the user is required to edit these two fields until the error condition is corrected.

CONFIDENTIAL MORBIDITY REPORT CHANGES:
99-128 A new entry, ~DELETE, has been added to the DISEASE list in the CMR form. The tilde (~) prefix will force this choice to the bottom of the list in ASCII sorting sequences. The ICD code will be retained so that the original disease choice will be preserved. The new CMR suboption that sets a disease to ~DELETE is called MARK RECORD FOR DELETION.
00-015 A foreign import capability has been added, called CMR FOREIGN IMPORT. Contact the AVSS Project for details.

SYSTEM MAINTENANCE CHANGES:
99-130 The SYSTEM STATUS suboption for AVSS/PC displays the User Name and Date/Time of logon.
