• The AVSS automatic match algorithm proved to be successful in matching about 90% of infant deaths. To move from the 90% automated rate to about 95% requires additional interactive follow up. Experience has shown that AVSS identifies almost all possible matches and that non-matches are usually the result of missing birth records.
