Running a Report in the Background

• A report run in the “Background” (rather than the “Foreground”) will not tie up your terminal while it is running.

• You will be able to use your terminal for other AVSS functions.

• This method is advisable when the report may take longer than a few minutes.

• The length of time will depend on:

  • speed of your computer,
  • number of births in the time period covered.
