• Present Situation (2): AVSS infant death records are automatically matched with birth records at the moment that the death record is filed. Most birth and death records thus arrive at OVR already matched. However, the match rate is less than optimal since there is more delay in birth registration and the mobility of parents means the matching birth certificate may not be at the local level.
