Using the CDC date of birth field (4), LCAs having a date of birth (4A) equal to +/- one day of that date are examined.

Each LCA in that date range is scored according to the 8 variables and the one with the maximum score is considered the match providing that at least 5 agree.

Names are stripped of punctuation and considered to be a match if the first 3 characters agreed.

Using the CDC date of birth field (4), LCAs having a date of birth (4A) equal to +/- one day of that date are examined.
